It’s Illuminating.

Finally… on to Chapter 7 – The Illlumination Process.

In our everyday activity, we can be pulled in several different directions, every which way and loose. The Illumination Process is a type of healing that can bring us back into balance.

It is said that this process works in three ways:

  • By burning up the sludge and deposits that cling to the walls of the chakras (promoting longevity and strengthening the immune system)
  • By combusting the toxic energy around harmful physical and emotional imprints
  • By scouring clean the imprints within the Luminous Energy Field
The Illumination Process

“Imprints are like dormant computer programs that when activated, compel us toward behaviors, relationships, accidents, and illnesses that parody the initial wounding… [They] can predispose us to follow certain pathways in life” (page 46).

Every imprint can be traced back to a specific chakra. It affects the chakra, which in turn affects our physical and emotional selves.  Our past is connected to our present. But our goal with this type of healing is to encourage that which encourages growth and combust (burn away) that which does not.

More on combusting these energies soon.

Learning vs. Experiencing

When I started this blog, my approach was to summarize important books in the Energy Healing field. Take a book a week. Easy? Yes? No.

I quickly found out two things:

1) One week is not nearly enough time to sufficient summarize a book;

2) Learning Energy Healing (or learning anything for that matter) is much more than summarizing someone else’s ideas.

My goal was to be online every single day. But I am realizing this is more than just an intellectual exercise to one the involves a physical, emotional, and spiritual “coming together”.

And that takes time. Time needed to let the information percolate and steep within. To live with new practices means I can ponder them deeply and not feel rushed.

Taking my time to understand, to feel, to know, to become… it’s so necessary.

Another Method – Expanding the Luminous Energy Field

Alberto Villoldo provides another way to open up sacred space, outside of calling on the four directions. The alternative approach works with the eighth chakra – starting in a similar way to sensing the luminous energy field (“Reading Your Energy – 2/2/12).

Below are the steps:

  • Place your hands in prayer pose.
  • Raise them above your head into the eighth chakra (pictured above).
  • Separate your hands to open the chakra, turning the hands out, and fanning them down shaping a dome around yourself.
  • Welcome serpent, jaguar, hummingbird, & eagle. Thank Mother Earth and Father Sky.
  • [The time for energy healing work]
  • Reverse movements to close the sacred space.
  • End with hands in a prayer pose.
  • Release serpent, jaguar, hummingbird, eagle. Thank Mother Earth and Father Sky.

The Trap of Energy Healing. ~ Anni Padma | elephant journal

I have many comments that I could make about this article (including Reiki being the oldest form of energy medicine), but for now, I will only speak about #4. I believe the author is correct, in that those working with the chakras and energy field for healing should be trained by those already gifted with this ability. On this blog, we are all learning together, but I encourage everyone to connect with a practicing energy healer for additional guidance.

It is important to know how what you do affects yourself or those you are working on. Here’s the article:–anni-padma/

How To Open Sacred Space

There are a couple of ways to open sacred space. The video post on 2/15 shows one of them. The video demonstrates shamans in various scenarios up opening up sacred space.

Here will be details for doing so:

Use this prayer (or something similar).

To the winds of the South

Great serpent,

Wrap your coils of light around us,

Teach us to shed the past the way you shed your skin,

To walk softly on the Earth. Teach us the Beauty Way.

The winds of the West

Mother jaguar,

Protect our medicine space.

Teach us the way of peace, to live impeccably

To the winds of the North

Hummingbird, Grandmothers and Grandfathers,

Ancient Ones

Come and warm your hands by our fires

Whisper to us in the win

We honor you who have come before us,

And you who will come after us, our children’s children.

To the winds of the East

Great eagle, condor

come to us from the place of th rising Sun

Keep us under your wing

Show us th mountains we only date to dream of

Teach us to fly wing to wing with th Great Spirit

Mother Earth

We’ve gathered for the healing of all of your children

The Stone People, the Plant People

The four-legged, the two-legged, the creepy crawlers

The finned, the furred, and the winged ones

All our relations

Father Sun, Grandmother Moon, to the Star Nations

Great Spirit, you who are known by a thousand names

And you who are the unnamable One

Thank you for bringing us together

And allowing us to sing the Song of Life

As you start the prayer, address the south, face that direction. When addressing each of the directions, either take the smudge stick and fan it with hand or feather in that direction, sprinkle scented water, or raise your hand to salute each direction, shake rattle.

Then touch the earth and look upwards in to the Heavens to signify  connection with Mother  Earth and Father Sky.

[Healing session occurs here]

Close the Sacred Space by thanking each animal spirit.

Now the text, states if you wish to connect with a particular archetype, to leave a specific one open instead of closing that direction. The request will be to have the animal enter you and assist you (or whoever you are working on) with the session. But it only mentions to “blow” the energy into the crown of the person you are working on. Not how to do it for yourself.
